A native New Yorker, Jamie Books is an accessories industry veteran with over 15 years of experience designing luxury accessories. She began her career in fine jewelry, studying at the Camberwell College of the Arts, before expanding her expertise to include handbags and small leather goods.
Her relationship with jewelry, however, began long before her formal training. From as early as she can remember, jewelry has served as both a creative outlet and a powerful expression of independence. Throughout her life, it has been a constant — something she has always turned to as she entered each new chapter.
The name Mason and Books is a tribute to her greatest muses and supporters: her children. “Mason” is her daughter’s middle name, while her son’s initials are MB. Books hopes the brand will one day be something they can grow into together — no pressure.
In 2021, Books debuted the Mason and Books collection, inspired by family, color, and the unpredictable rhythm of life itself. The brand’s design philosophy centers on reimagining familiar concepts in unconventional ways. Each piece incorporates distinctive color combinations of thoughtfully cut and sourced gemstones, brought to life through fully realized, 360-degree design.
Every creation is handcrafted by master jewelers in the brand’s dedicated New York City workshop. Books personally oversees each step of the process with meticulous care, beginning with her own hand sketches and bespoke wax models. A strong advocate for domestic manufacturing, she proudly supports the U.S. craftsmen who have shaped her approach and artistry.
The resulting jewelry is playful and accessible, yet commands attention through its sophisticated originality.
Jamie lives in Manhattan with her daughter, Berkeley, and her son, Miller.
