The industry standard, the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat Weight) are, in essence, guidelines to define how rare a diamond in fact is. Prices increase exponentially the higher the size, Color and Clarity combined. However, cut is the most important factor in determining a diamond's beauty. Interestingly, Round Cut diamonds are usually 25% more expensive than all other Cuts.
